NGI CEO discusses growing demand for alternative asset managers with the AFR

Blackrock’s $US12.5 billion ($18.2 billion) acquisition of Global Infrastructure Partners will bolster demand for alternative asset managers as investors chase better returns outside listed markets, former Macquarie Asset Management managing director Stephen Darke says.

 

Mr Darke – who left Macquarie after 22 years in 2022 and is now in charge of ASX-listed alternatives player Navigator Global – said such strategies in areas like private markets were resilient in volatile periods like the GFC and COVID-19 pandemic......
